The Russian Frontier Guard Band is one of the best orchestras in the country. In the course of its history, it performed under the baton of F.Nikolaevsky, V.Runov, V.Revelev, E.Mazin.

The orchestra regularly participates in national events and holidays attended by the President of Russia, leaders of the Federal Frontier Guard of Russia, members of the government and Russian Parliament. It also frequently holds concerts and performs for the Frontier guards.

During its 50-year history, the orchestra toured and gave concerts at all frontiers of Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. The band was also enthusiastically received in the USA, Germany, Austria, Poland, Norway and Denmark.

The orchestra is remarkable for an extremely varied repertoire of music, which guarantees a tremendous success and packed audiences all over the world. The very high level of professional musicianship, repeatedly recognized at its performances at military ceremonies, allows the band to render a wide range of music from classical pieces to folk and pop.

The orchestra is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Moscow Government. It performs with soloists from the best theaters of the country: the Bolshoi Theater, the Music Theatre after Stanislavsky and Nemirovitch-Danchenko, the Operetta Theater and others.

In 1992, the well-respected and famed conductor E.Svetlanov cast the Russian Frontier Guard Band over many rival wind orchestras to record the 19th Symphony of Myaskovsky for the "Anthology of Russian Music".

It is worth mentioning that the orchestra has a spectacular marching band performance, which consists of movements and reorganizations of the musicians to popular music from around the world. The audience always delightfully attends its performances in the streets, squares, large concert auditoriums and international festivals of military orchestras.
